Merry Christmas

Can you believe it is Christmas Eve? Goodness where has the time gone this year?

It is a super special day for James & I today as it is our Wedding Anniversary today!
9 Years ago at 10am on a cold but bright Christmas Eve we got married in a secret ceremony with only 2 witnesses with us.
It was perfect!

Anyhoo, I just wanted to wish you a wonderful Christmas & I hope you have a very Happy New Year.

Old School Milk Bottles - Waiting for Santa

This is another cute way we are using THESE old school milk bottles at our house!
How cute is this to leave for Santa on Christmas Eve?

Simply wrap a bit of red & white bakers twine around the top of one of THESE bottles, fill with milk & pop a red & white stripe straw in & leave with a couple of cookies (or candy canes) for the big guy to arrive!

Simple Rosemary Display for Christmas

This is the little display I have on our dining room table for Christmas.

The room is very white with hints of black & an amazing painting (as you can just about see in the background) by my husband which was my birthday present in November. So I wanted a understated natural look in this room for Christmas & I the idea of using THESE small glass bottles. Then I had a flash of inspiration & cut some Rosemary stems from the garden, filled the bottom of the bottles with a little water & placed the stems in.
We have a large bay window in this room looking over our tree filled garden & so this is perfect to bring a touch of greenery into the room, to compliment the green view we look out onto.
I just love how these look on the simple white table.

Last Day to order from Number Fifteen

Hey Number Fifteeners!
The last day for UK Christmas orders is Sunday 15th December - this Sunday everyone!!!
So please make sure you have any orders you want to arrive before Christmas placed by Sunday.

I know this seems a bit early but as larger parcels are sent by courier & the courier states that parcels take between 3-5 'working days', this could mean 7 days in some cases which could be taking you up to the 23rd/24th! Plus even if the smaller parcels are posted with The Royal Mail as we all know it is a busy time of year for post & it does take slightly longer.

So please make sure you have all orders placed by Sunday evening.
Please note this is for UK orders only as International orders will probably not make it in time now.

Thanks everyone.

Wooden Scandinavian Style Deer Decoration

At Number Fifteen we love this little guy!
He is a wooden Scandinavian style deer & he comes in 4 parts & you just slot him together & stand him up!
He looks perfect where-ever you place him.

Wouldn't he be lovely as part of your festive decorations this year, he is so adorable!
I personally think this little guy is for life not only for Christmas & we have had one of his brothers living in our dining room for months now.

He stands a proud 29cms tall.
He is £6 & you can find him

Christmas is on it's way!

I am so unprepared for Christmas this year! It really doesn't feel like December to me at all!
I have done some gift shopping but I'm certainly not done but the thing I can't get my head around at the moment is Christmas cards!!! It seems to early even though I know it isn't!

For ages I couldn't bare the thought of buying any cards & apart from buying 2 for each of our Dad's that's as far as my Christmas card affair has gone - and this let me tell you is only because James' Dad lives in Australia & so it had to be posted today & when we bought it we saw the perfect one for my Dad!!!! I know I will have to get on it this week (I will as my bestest friend is visiting from Portugal this weekend!) but normally I feel excited by writing out all my cards but this year I don't!

We received our first card on Monday from our friends (they are off to Cuba for a few weeks so are getting in with the card business early!!!) & this is it above - isn't it splendiferous in all it's geometric glory!

I know so many people have put their Christmas decorations up last weekend but let me tell you friends, this is just too early for me. We are going to put ours up on Saturday night & we do like to make a night of it with bubbly & a festive selection of cheeses (this has been our tradition for years now!) we get a bit tiddly & giddy & the decorations go up whilst we listen to old Christmas songs.
Once finished we generally settle back with a good old favourite Christmas film (like The Christmas Story - how cute & quirky is this film!!!) or start on our old favourite Christmas TV shows like The Box of Delights or The Children of Green Knowe (oh my goodness I love these!!!)

Oohh I do believe I am feeling festive after writing this post!
*hurrah*
